Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment for an evaluation? Do I need a referral from a vet?

You can call our clinic anytime to set up an appointment. You will need to inform your pet's surgeon/neurologist/primary veterinarian and have them fill our referral form. They can fax medical history/notes and the referral form to us prior to the appointment or you can bring a copy of the notes and referral with you to the evaluation.

Do you accept insurance?

Most pet insurance companies require pre-payment by owner and provide reimbursement for services with submission of receipts. At this time, some pet insurance companies will reimburse for rehabilitation but you should check with your individual insurance company. Back to top.

Do you board dogs overnight?

Yes, for dogs/cats that are under our care for rehabilitation we offer boarding. We are not, however, a day care and we do not provide boarding for animals not under our care for rehabilitation services. Back to top.

I came from far away to have the surgery performed. Do I need to stay with my pet?

No, we do not allow owners to stay at our hospital. We can provide information for nearby hotels. If you are going to board your pet for long-term rehabilitation, we can send you weekly pictures and/or videos to update you on your pet's progress. Back to top.

Can my pet come to see you before he/she has surgery?

Absolutely! It is very beneficial to come and get your pet acclimated to our facility and the equipment before surgery. This will reduce your pet’s possible anxiety and increase the safety of rehabilitation when you come after the surgery. Click here for further information. Back to top.

Can I come in to watch the sessions?

If you are coming as an outpatient with your pet, you are encouraged to stay and participate in the rehabilitation session. We will offer day drop off for outpatient visits as well. If your pet is boarding with us, we appreciate a call ahead of time to arrange a time for you to see their treatment session.

We would like to see your pet as soon as possible following surgery. However, your surgeon may have specific recommendations regarding your pet’s rehabilitation. We would be happy to assist you in progressing your pet according to your surgeon’s protocol when you come in for an evaluation
